Health Drink Secrets

Do you like the idea of getting healthier just by choosing the right health drinks? Just because a beverage is labeled as a health drink doesn’t mean it’s the best drink for your situation. Use these guidelines to choose the best health drinks for you.

There are a bunch of different kinds of health drinks out there, each formulated for a different purpose. Are you looking to drink instead of eat a meal? Recovering from a hard workout? Hydrating after intense exercise in challenging weather? Just looking for something to wet your whistle? Besides looking to see if it’s all natural and full of good healthy stuff (fruit, veggies, super foods), you want to match the right drink with the right need.

If you need a meal replacement, you’ll need to consider calories first.

You’ll want to make sure the drink isn’t too high in calories, but is high enough to constitute a real meal replacement. The meal replacement health drink should also be low sugar and high protein. Choose fat over sugar, and if possible, choose a drink that actually contains some fiber (or mix in a little Metamucil). if the meal replacement has fat, fiber, and protein, you’ll feel full longer.

If you’ve just finished a weight lifting routine, you’ll need a recovery drink with lots of protein. You can buy prepared recovery drinks or make your own with protein powder.

If you’ve just finished a long run in the sun or an intense soccer game, you need electrolytes, water, and sugar.

If you just need something to drink, you’ll want to opt for a low calorie, low sugar health drink. You want to leave room in your diet for calories you get to eat, rather than drinking all your calories.

Try out different health drinks until you find the ones that taste best to you.

Where To Buy Your DVDs

Nowadays, you can rent DVDs relatively inexpensively, both through Netflix and at such stand-alone DVD rental systems as the Red Box. But with Netflix, you have to wait a couple days before the DVD reaches you, and with the Red Box, you have a limited selection. Because of this, it is often nice to own those DVDs that you especially enjoy – the ones that you end up watching over and over again.

Even though you can buy DVDs just about anywhere these days (from places as expected as Best Buy and Walmart to places as unexpected as highway gas stations!), you want to make sure you are getting the best price. After all, Best Buy might have a great selection, but you will still probably want to avoid them. You can find the same selection (or an even bigger selection) at other places, and for much better prices.

Walmart is a good place for buying new DVDs for a fairly reasonable price, but you will not find the selection at Walmart that you might want. As far as brick and mortar locations go, Walmart is tough to beat for buying brand new DVDs.

At the same time, it is not actually necessary that the DVDs you buy be brand new; you will have a vast array of purchasing options open to you as soon as you realize this. One of the best places for finding a large selection of used DVDs is Blockbuster – and while many Blockbuster stores have a “used” section, many other Blockbuster stores are going out of business. Because of this, you can typically find excellent deals on used DVDs, as these stores need to sell everything at once.

And of course, the best place of all to buy used DVDs is online, shopping on Amazon where you will have a nearly endless selection. And although it can seem inconvenient to have to wait a couple days for your DVD purchase to arrive, it will be yours for good as soon as it reaches you.

You do not have to be without the DVDs you love; simply find the best place to shop, and start building your collection!

Tips to Get the Clutter Out

If you feel like your house is cluttered, it can be a mood altering experience. People report feeling depressed and tired when they are surrounded by clutter. On the positive side even the most cluttered house can be fixed with a change in routine and working through the clutter little by little. It can be tough to change routines and be dedicated to cleaning up the mess you face, but it is well worth it in the long run.

When you first walk in the door you may be tempted just to drop your keys here, your phone there, and your wallet in yet another place. Do you have a table right by your door?  Put a basket on the table and put all of those little things into the basket. Be disciplined enough not to put in junk, and receipts.  Put in just those things you need as you are walking out the door.

Paper is often the next issue people have. Right after you had dropped off the keys into the basket get your mail and go through it. Destroy the mail that needs to be shredded, pay bills immediately, and either file them or shred as necessary. Next grab a pile of old bills and paperwork and go through it. You will get your paper clutter under control if you deal with new mail immediately and go through one old pile of clutter a day.

Shoes can become a clutter and a mess especially if you have a family. Shoe racks are great and they can either sit on the ground or hang behind a door.  The bonus is not only do you remove a tripping hazard but you also reduce the amount of dirt being tracked around the house.

Another common issue is the Glad/ Ziploc containers and tops. If you go through these every once and a while and toss containers that are missing tops, and tops that are missing bottoms, and old and worn ones, you will have considerably less of a mess.

Remember don’t get over whelmed. If you start to organize and tackle things little by little it isn’t too bad. You will find if you change your routine and slowly work through the mess the clutter will go away. You can finally live in an uncluttered home!

If you have ever ended up with a stubborn stain in a favorite shirt or pair of pants, you know how obnoxious this can be. The worst part is, you know that the stain is probably stuck there for good from the moment you spill the grease, oil, food, et cetera on there! And while there are some home remedies that are supposed to get stains out, most of these do not work after the stain sets, if they work at all! But whether you are dealing with easy stains, tough stains, or anything in between, there is one product that does a great job removing stains time and time again! This product, which works like magic and costs only a few dollars is Resolve Stain Stick.

In order to use Stain Stick, all you need to do is rub the solution from the stick over the stained area liberally, and then let the clothes sit. After you let these clothes sit for a little while, just throw them into the washing machine right along with everything else. Stain Stick is perfectly safe to use on your clothes, and you will be amazed by how quickly even old stains start to come out of your clothes!

Try leaving the Stain Stick on the stain overnight before putting it in the washer if you are dealing with a particularly bad stain or a particularly old stain. It may take two or three washes before such difficult stains as these disappear entirely, but you will notice a difference right away – even after only one wash.

There is one caution to keep in mind about Stain Stick, and it is the fact that it can fade khaki colors in the spot where it is applied. Because of this, you should only Stain Stick your khaki-colored clothes if you are putting them into the washing machine immediately afterward.

Give Stain Stick a shot if you have been searching for years for a miracle solution to help you get rid of stains! This product only costs a few dollars, and you just might be amazed by the results!

Tips for Branding Your Business

Have you decided to work on clarifying your business brand, but aren’t sure where to start? The following suggestions will help you establish your business concept visually.

Use color. What colors you use will determine what image you project. Does that surprise you? Marketing specialists attribute about 50% of people’s responses to your marketing materials to your use of color.

Colors are associated with specific emotional reactions. Warm colors make us want to eat, which is why reds, oranges, and golds are often painted on dining room walls. If you use green in your marketing materials, you’ll come across as eco-friendly or fresh, and as calming if you use blues. What emotional reaction do you want to be associated with your business?

Colors are also associated with specific products and well-established brands. For example, everyone knows pink is symbolic of breast cancer awareness. A lot of banks use blues. The second you see golden arches, you think “McDonalds”. What colors will represent your business best?

Create a unique image or logo. Do you want a modern, sleek look, or would you rather promote a vintage, funky, one-of-a-kind image? Spend some time thinking about the brand of your business, then look through sample fonts and logos and look images that match.

When choosing an image or mascot, you have to take into consideration what tone you are trying to inspire. Do you want to promote a silly tone – like that portrayed by the Rabbit on Trix cereal ads? Or are you out to convey a serious, reliable tone?

You can design your own logo online or hire a professional. You can get good logos inexpensively by using art students or freelance marketing specialists. Take your time to ensure you choose a logo that really promotes your brand.

Does Meditation Really Produce Health Benefits?

Have you ever considered taking up meditation but pooh-poohed it as something only for Tibetan monks? Meditation delivers excellent health benefits at a bargain price; it’s free. The following health benefits are all attributed to regular meditation practice.

Meditation works to diffuse the impact of stress upon your body. If you’re a typical American, you probably live a stressful life and pack too much into your schedule. Even as little as fifteen minutes of meditation will lower your body’s level of cortisol. What is cordisol, you ask? It’s a hormone your body produces when stressed as part of your fight or flight response, and it can wreak havoc on your nerves and immune system if produced in high levels.

Meditation is good for your heart. Every time you meditate, your body responds by lowering your blood pressure and slowing your heart rate. It is also believed to bolster your body’s ability to heal, which is why the Mayo Clinic recommended daily meditation for its cancer patients and provides classes on how to meditate.

Meditation improves mental accuity and mood. Scientists have compared the brains of monks (who have established meditation practices) with average people (who don’t meditate) and found the monks had more brain activity than the average people. They were also found to have enlarged hippocampuses, which is the part of your brain that exudes feelings of well being. In general, people who practice meditation see improvement in mental focus.

How can you start a meditation practice? Simply put aside fifteen minutes a day for meditation. Find a comfortable place to sit (where it is quiet), set a timer, and close your eyes. Focus on a single word and repeatedly guide your mind back to that thought. Your mind will wander, but keep reigning it in, releasing the distracting thoughts and focusing on that one word. Remain quiet and still, thinking only of that one word until the timer sounds off. Add minutes to your meditation sessions until you find the perfect session length to meet your needs.

So you have just brought your new baby into the home. It is a wonderful time in your life and you feel like you are completely prepared. However there will most likely be items that you’ve completely forgotten to buy. A toddler tub is something most people forget to buy. Giving your infant a bath may seem like it is really easy for you to do. Just be sure that your baby is in a safe position and will not be injured when you do so. The First Year’s Infant Toddler Tub with Sling is something you should consider purchasing for your baby.

This toddler tub can make washing your baby extremely easy. Provide your baby with a comfortable area to be washed in with the already installed swing. Washing them will be a ton of fun for you and they will be very comfortable. They can lay safely in the swing after you place them allowing you to wash them rather easily. This particular tub holder allows you to use it in both single sinks and double sinks.

Another great feature is the adjustable tub design. The tub allows you to continue using it as your infant grows up over the years. Your baby will eventually be able to use the bath tub and until then they will be able to grow with this bath tub. The seat is also able to be adjusted to be more upright as your child gets older. If your infant is still very young you will want them to be very reclined in the tub. In the front of the tub there is also a bin to place the toys in!

Make sure that you can enjoy your baby’s bath time by using the First Year’s Infant Toddler Tub. Since they have the baby’s best interest in mind, the employees at this company are always safety experts. They also offer many more products than just bath tubs, so be sure to check out their entire line of products.

There aren’t many things more relaxing than a massage. A professional massage is usually very expensive though, which is a problem. This makes it very unrealistic for most people to enjoy on a consistent basis. Long work weeks leave people stressed and they often carry this stress week to week. Well it doesn’t have to be this way. A massaging cushion seat has been developed by Homedics in order to be placed in your house for relaxing massages daily. The initial purchase price is the only cost that is involved.

A great massage can by provided by this cushion with an easy placement over a chair inside your house. Any chair you own can be easily converted into a massage chair quickly. The massage mechanisms for the shoulder and back work independently of each other. This means that you can have a full control over your massage. No longer will you have to settle for a chair that can only be set to one speed of massage.

The massage you desire can be delivered with the many controls that you have. One of the most popular options is the shiatsu massage. Japan was the birthplace of this type of massage and it combines heat with a strong style of massage. Any option you choose will be sufficient in relaxing your muscles and easing your stress. Homedics has really put together a complete massaging cushion with this design. Your own home can provide you with amazing comfort through this cushion. Say goodbye to high spa bills. One shiatsu massage at your spa will cost more than purchasing this cushion for you home. Where Does My House Lose Heat From?

Apr13

Leave a Comment Written by Jeff

As we close out winter and welcome the approach of spring, you might realize that you have spent the winter complaining about heating costs and wondering where all that heat goes. But it is not magic, the way all this heat has been leaving from your house, and it is also not terribly difficult to understand. Furthermore, it is quite easy to turn things around, so that the heat starts to stay in your house instead of always escaping outside. Not only will this knowledge help you for the remainder of this winter, but it will also help you next winter and even with air conditioning during the summer!

Even if every one of your windows is closed, they are still the biggest escape point for heat to leave your house! Although you might prefer to keep your blinds open to let the sunlight in, know that you are paying money to do so, as one of the best ways to keep the heat inside is to simply keep the shades or blinds drawn. Another great way to keep the heat inside your house is to make sure you have storm windows on all your windows, instead of screens. Also, consider purchasing such window films as Energy Film Window Film, which goes over your window to help keep the heat inside.

Shop For Energy Film Window Film

If your walls and roof are not well-insulated, you will lose a lot of heat through them; although it costs money to fix this problem in your house, the money spent will save you money down the road.

Lastly, remember that heat can escape around the edges of the doors in your house. If you have a door that you rarely use, consider sealing the edges of it during the winter – this will keep the warm air in and the cold air out!

It takes a bit of extra work to make sure your house is not losing heat, and sometimes it takes a bit of extra money as well. But once your heating bills stop going up, you will realize that the work and the investment paid off, and you will be able to enjoy the warmth of your home without paying for it through the nose!
